For Manual…

• Crunching between gears can indicate worn synchromesh, amongst other things
• An inability to change into one or more gears.
• Leakage from the transmission casing.
• General grinding noises when a gear is engaged and the vehicle is in motion.

For Automatic…

• An inability to select Park or Reverse.
• Missing gears or slurring or gear changes.
• Violent upshifts or downshifts.
• Excessive or new vibration at idle or when in any gear.
• Leakage from the transmission casing.
